Discover the New Cisco CCNP Certification at NetCom New York, NY - January 26, 2010 - NetCom Information Technology, a leading technical training provider and authorized Cisco Learning Partner, today announced the availability of a new training package: Cisco CCNP (ROUTE, SWITCH, TSHOOT). This package reflects Cisco's January 2010 updates to their renowned CCNP certification. The new CCNP certification is designed to be more predictive of job readiness and focuses on the skills that are needed to plan, implement, and troubleshoot routed and switched networks. "The new CCNP emphasizes the actual job tasks of a modern network engineer," says Mudit Mittal, COO at NetCom. "This update fits perfectly with our philosophy of career advancement through targeted lifelong learning, and we are happy to be among the first authorized Cisco training centers to be offering these courses." Cisco has redesigned the CCNP curriculum and exams to reflect the evolving job tasks of global network professionals. As seen in the below diagram, four courses have been streamlined to three: ROUTE: Implementing Cisco IP Routing is a five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of complex enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions, using a range of routing protocols. ROUTE v1.0 also covers configuration of secure routing solutions to support branch offices and mobile workers. The course includes more than seven hours of e-learning lessons and demos that students can absorb at their own pace. SWITCH: Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks is a five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals will learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions, using Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture. SWITCH v1.0 also covers secure integration of VLANs, WLANs, voice, and video into campus networks. TSHOOT: Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks is a brand new five-day instructor-led course in which network professionals learn to (1) plan and perform regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks, and (2) use technology-based practices and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting. Extensive labs provide hands-on learning and reinforce troubleshooting skills. The course includes more than nine hours of self-paced e-learning lessons and demos. NetCom adds value to its Cisco training courses with customized, hands-on activities and labs designed by experienced Cisco networking professionals. Instructor-led training courses for Cisco's new CCNP certifications and other Cisco courses are available in NetCom Learning Centers nationwide or at NetCom's clients' locations via private on-site training.
